12 Month Rolling Rental Trends November 2023

It would be very helpful if Owners who pay their POA dues by check in the mail, mail payments to Island Financial instead of mailing them to the Office.

A check mailed to the Office requires management to collect and deposit those checks by making multiple trips to the Bank, and update Island Financial with names and lot #s of Owners who mailed their checks to the Office, to record payment and update owners’ accounts.

A check mailed to Island Financial gets recorded instantly and deposited daily.

So, please, the next time you pay your POA dues by check in the mail, remember to:

Make the check payable to: HHIMR and

Mail it to : Island Financial, PO BOX 7096, HHI 29938

Happy Friday!

PLM Lake was here this week. The lines that secure the fountains have been weighted down so you cant see them. Some shore line algae was treated and the water was dyed. There are some big turtles and fish in there. Reminder to not feed the turtles or fish. Also do not place anything at the waters edge.

January 1st the pool heaters will be turned off. The spa will still be available. If you use the spa and have to remove the cover, please put the cover back on. The cover will be put on starting today.

If you use the upstairs clubhouse projector and screen, please retract the screen when your finished. The daylight can ruin the screen. Detailed instructions on how to use the projector and screen will be posted soon near the equipment.

A few Spectrum channels have been returned to our cable package. We have a new contact and hopefully things will improve. We are working on getting better and faster shared WIFI and more cable channels in the future. Did you know using the Spectrum app you can receive more channels? If you want to learn how please contact me.

Safe travels if your heading home or traveling to warmer weather!

Marketing

Marketing Update

We continue to work on the resorts marketing and are pleased to inform you of some additional progress that has been made over the past few weeks.

We found out this week that our waitlist for the Tampa Supershow in January has cleared, therefore, we will have our own booth (B221) at the show in 2024. We are still on the waitlist for the Hershey show next summer, fingers crossed, that clears too.

Wendy and Tracy Hawkins will be setting up and staffing the booth, it will also be a great opportunity for Wendy to be exposed to the show and more of the RV industry as a whole, so a win win.

We would like to know what owners are planning to attend the show. We might need a little additional help for an hour or two here and there to relieve Tracy and Wendy. It would also be great to have owners talking to show visitors about their experience in Paradise.

For the last few weeks we have been working on claiming many of the resorts listings on various RV sites to bring the information, photos, rates etc. up to date, this is an ongoing process.

I have spoken to the head of marketing at RV Share and am pleased to announce we once again are showing #1 status on our website homepage with a link to that section of their website. There are also additional awards that have been placed on the homepage to further promote our resort/island and show the recognition we have received.

There are other awards we are hoping to get and place on the homepage. We will receive requests for nominations for many of these as they become available. We will then be asking you as owners, to go on and place a vote for us to improve our chance of winning the top spot. More on these as the various nominations come out in the New Year.

Talking of the website, make sure you check out all of the Fall Owners week photos that have been added to the HHIMR Events photo gallery.

We have signed an initial agreement with Hawk Media to provide the resort with additional marketing services on top of the website management. These include Google Ads setup and management, ad campaigns, conversation tracking, site remarking, competitive remarking, Facebook retargeting, FB Pixel, phone call tracking etc.

Have you ever wondered how in your Facebook feed, you see ads pop up for things you have been looking at, or for online? That is a result of some of the marketing initiatives mentioned above. Google ads will also help put us higher up on Google searches where keywords are placed in the search that relate to our resort or island.

Staylist are finally ready to integrate their latest version for us, the migration is planned to take place in early January. When we received a demonstration for it this past spring, it had some great new features, we’re still puzzled why it took them so long to pass it on to us.

After our Fall Owners week board meeting, Lisa Richart shared some great marketing opportunities she had seen and heard about at the Outdoor Hospitality Show she attended in Kansas City. Some we were already working on, but others we are now looking to integrate into the resorts marketing strategies. She also passed on other companies to look at for alternative booking systems (like Staylist), other marketing companies and initiatives, RV Campsite search and booking services etc. Thank you Lisa for the great information and insight.

These suggestions as well as others in process are certainly going to give our marketing committee some great ideas to really sink our teeth into and drive more renters into our resort.

The Deep Well Project is an “Angel Charity

Helping our Hilton Head neighbors in need

We are still collecting Toys for the local children. Please have your donations dropped off by Wednesday the 13th.

A predominantly volunteer-based non-profit, with a minimum of paid staff, The Deep Well Project has been helping neighbors in need since 1973. The organization was founded by Charlotte Heinrichs as a service to the local community that suffered illness as a result of drinking contaminated water from shallow wells. Over the decades, other needs evolved and so did “Deep Well” (as it’s known on the island). We help people in emergency situations by giving them an immediate hand up so that they can continue to help themselves. It could be a rent payment between jobs or food for the family when the cupboard runs bare and when cash has all but run out. It could be school uniforms for children or floor repairs or the construction of a much-needed wheelchair ramp. At Deep Well, over 90% of our expenses go directly to client programs and services.

OUR MISSION: Through services and advocacy, The Hilton Head Island Deep Well Project partners with neighbors to meet their basic needs and create a bridge to self-sufficiency.

OUR VISION: Connecting community to foster independence for our neighbors in need.

Santa Shop

In Early December, we begin stocking our Santa Shop with a broad range of new toys, books, crafts and activities, as well as new clothes for children from ages 1 through 12. The toys are donated — from individuals and organizations throughout the island — and the clothes are purchased throughout the year, generally at Deep Well discounts, by our veteran volunteer shoppers.

Parents come in at appointed times, either for a morning or afternoon shopping session, without their children present. Shelves are re-stocked between sessions to provide a full selection for everyone. As we hoped it would, the program brings greater joy to the children and a greater sense of dignity to the parents.

Although Deep Well has helped make the holidays special for thousands of children through the years, the debut of the Santa Shop in 2013 was a smashing success. Why?…Because it empowered families to have greater involvement in their children’s Christmas, with the opportunity to select the items they knew their children would like best. And the kids were more surprised than ever!

Last year, almost 900 children, ages one through 12, were able to select:

A toy from each of two categories

two books

an outfit or piece of outerwear

a ball or similar recreational gift

a game or stuffed animal

a bag of stocking stuffers

Don’t forget to sign up for Taco Tuesday by Sunday the 10th. $10 per person.

There are some interesting matchups in the Football Bowl games this month. We will have watch parties in the upstairs clubhouse on the projector. Days and times will be shared in the coming weeks.
