Dear Friends and Neighbors
My final Presidents report…I can hear the cheers now…but none louder than my sigh of relief at being less than 22 hours left of serving my three year term.
What a fantastic Owners Week it has been, my hat goes off to Debbie Rockwood and Debbie Philips for an exceptional week. Your attention to detail, selection of food, daily themes has not gone unnoticed. I’ve heard many people say it’s the best ever, thank you so much, even if you did make me dress up like a Captain on opening night.
Also a big thank you to all of the volunteers that have helped serve food, set-up, clean-up, re-arrange tables, put on sporting events, it’s owners like you that make HHIMR Paradise for so many of us.
I don’t know about you, but for the past two weeks, the resort has once again felt like Paradise. There has been no negativity or attacks on the Board or staff on social media or unsolicited e-blasts. No demanding emails or for the most part, Direct Lines in poor taste. No real need to talk to the resorts General Counsel to protect our resort.
As the Captain (or President) of the ship, with the strong support of the rest of the Board, we have been trying to right the ship and set it on a better course for the next Board. Based on the large number of thanks we’ve received, I think in a large part, we’ve been successful, let’s keep it going.
In closing, I want to wish the new Board the best of luck in your upcoming term. Remember, your elected job is to represent the “majority” of owners and not the opinion of a small few. As Spiros so perfectly stated a few weeks ago, as a Board member, we were owners before we got on the Board, we are owners while on the Board, and we will be owners after we get off the Board.
Sincerely,
Tony Goddard – Board President – Captain
