TEAM MOTORCOACH

Florida RV Super Show

We have been visited by so many Owners! It was great to receive the support. We have had many guests stop and say we are their favorite location and cannot wait to return. We have seen a slight decrease in traffic. This year the show did not allow for rally’s to park on location, at the last minute the organization did allow camping on site but were charging a larger nightly rate.

We have handed out about 200 brochures since Tuesday. On each brochure we have placed a 10% code for guests to receive when booking. This will help us track how many reservations were booked due to exposure at the show.

Town of Hilton Head Island

Winter Weather Alert

With the National Weather Service tracking a winter weather event that will impact Beaufort County and the Town of Hilton Head Island, the safety of our residents, visitors, and employees is our first priority.

Currently, the NWS has not issued a winter storm watch, warning or advisory for Beaufort County. Should that change, information regarding any closures will be available on our website, through our email notification system, and on our Town social media channels.

We will continue to monitor the situation over the weekend and will provide an update on Monday with any changes or additional guidance.

What we know:

  • A very cold air mass is expected, meaning we have a high probability of below normal temperatures. There is a high probability that we will encounter icy conditions, and possibly some snow, beginning Tuesday and into Wednesday evening.
  • To stay on top of the weather forecast, please monitor the NWS website, or download local news source apps available for free in the Apple and Google Play stores.
  • The South Carolina Emergency Management Division also has a variety of resources available on their website.

Town safety precautions and preparations:

  • Starting Monday, our Town Staff will prepare our parks and facilities by turning off all water to prevent and/or mitigate any damage caused by freezing temperatures. This means that there will be no running water available in park restrooms, showers, or water fountains. Although restrooms will be closed, parks and beaches will remain open. Water service will be restored and restrooms reopened as soon as possible when temperatures allow. We appreciate your understanding.
  • A warming shelter will open daily at Christ Lutheran Church, 829 William Hilton Parkway, beginning Monday, Jan. 20 at 5:30 p.m. The shelter will close at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday. Dinner and a to-go breakfast will be provided. No weapons, alcohol, smoking or pets are permitted. Service animals will be allowed.
  • You can report any problems or concerns you see through the Town of Hilton Head Island App – MyHHI.

General safety precautions and preparations:

  • Stay Home: If you don’t need to leave home, please stay there. Road conditions could deteriorate quickly when the weather arrives, increasing the chance for car crashes or other personal injury.
  • Wear Warm Clothing: Dress in layers, wear a hat, and use items such as gloves and scarves to protect exposed skin.
  • Protect Pets: Bring pets indoors and provide warm clothing for your pet if going for a walk. If it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for them.
  • Prepare Home: Insulate outdoor pipes, and let indoor faucets drip to prevent freezing. Seal Draft windows and doors to keep heat in. Check your heating system and replace filters if needed.

Protect Plants: Move potted plants inside or cover them to protect them from the cold.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

From The Board

To: All owners

Help Wanted

It’s that time of year when we need to start thinking of the elections and new members for the board.

I am pleased to announce the following owners have agreed to serve on the election committee.

Debbie Phillips (269), Ellen Corcoran (21), Carol Wilcock (195) and Ward Simmons (207).

Looking ahead to challenges coming up and the owners leaving the board, your board will have a need for board member with certain skills.

To deal with the SIPSD claim, we need a person with legal and professional experience.

To replace Spiros our treasurer, someone with an accounting background is essential.

To deal our infrastructure and drainage issue, an engineering background would help.

And for our ongoing business model, managerial or business ownership of a multi-faceted business would be a great asset.

Therefore, if you have some of the above credentials, experience or knowledge, please consider running for election. Your resort needs you. If in doubt, email me and I would only be so happy to explain the challenges and rewards that come with the positions.

With that said, it has been a tremendous pleasure to serve as your president for the last nine months and I look forward to working with the new members when elected.

Thank you for all your support.

Happy Friday!

*FREEZE WARNING*

It is likely this upcoming week that the resort water will be turned off for 2 (Tuesday & Wednesday), possibly 3 (Monday) evenings, because of freezing temperatures. IF the water does need to be turned off, an email alert will be sent out. The Resort water will be turned off at 9PM and turned back on at 9AM the next morning. Please be sure to fill your tanks. The Clubhouse bathrooms and laundry room will not be available while the water is off. The hours are subject to change so please check your emails DAILY.

These items in the fitness room must stay in the corner, not blocking the doorways. On Wednesday, the Fire Marshal came in for the Resort’s annual inspection. The cart, weights, exercise balls and a mat were piled up in front of the white door, which is prohibited. They were also far enough in the walkway to block the exterior door. The Fire Marshal did not write a violation, instead gave a warning that one could have been written, including a fine.

February 2nd is the planned date for the annual water main back flow test. The water will be turned off at Noon, for approximately 2 hours.

We now have 4 ducks in the lake. 2 males and 2 females. PLM Lake Maintenance said its possible that they could lay eggs, and we could be blessed with ducklings. They will fly back north and return again next winter. It will be exciting to see if they decide to lay eggs here.

Have a great weekend and safe travels.
