Paradise Weather

February 24 – March 1

I would like to thank Adam Straub for the dedication and knowledge he added to Team Motorcoach. You will be missed and we hope to see you again. Safe Travels to your next adventure.

James and Lynn Hudson will be pulling out of Paradise next Wednesday. They have decided to park their rig and purchase a home in North Carolina. They have added many different skills to Team Motorcoach. You will be missed and we hope that you will visit Paradise in the future.

Laundry Room Update:

The vendor has repaired 2 of the 3 inoperable washing machines. The remaining machine requires a new part, they will be out to replace it the weekend.

The Dog Park is almost complete. We still have to install some pavers at the opening of the dog park to cover a trip hazard. The toys and benches will be arriving next week. We will have the park open and ready for everyone by mid week, weather permitting.

DOG PARK NAME Nominations:

We are asking for nominations to name the Resort Dog Park. We ask all entries are non personal, resort friendly, and fun spirited. Please email all entries to manager@hhimr.com by Wednesday the 28th.

Happy Friday!

Paradise Island is shaping up! Posts are painted and the lights are up. Once we clean and place the furniture back, it will be ready to enjoy with fellow owners and guests. Pics to follow in next weeks postings.

The water will be shut off again within the next 2 weeks. The main backflow and shut off valve need to be rebuilt per SIPSD requirements. As soon as the repair is scheduled we send an email.

One of the fountains will need to be pulled ashore and inspected. We will do this next week. It is currently turned off.

Next Wednesday the recycle vendor will be here to remove all scrap.

The pool heaters will be turned back on as soon as the overnight temps are consistently in the upper 50’s. We are still seeing morning temps in the 30’s and 40’s.

Elections Committee Update:

Candidate Forum 

Wednesday, 2/28 at 6pm either in person (upstairs clubhouse) or via Zoom.

Zoom instructions will be emailed on 2/26.

Candidate Questions

Thank you to the owners who submitted questions for the Candidate Forum. Here’s the questions we will be asking.

1.    What is the first, and most important, item you will address if elected?

2.     What do you plan to do to improve rentals? 

3.    Do you think the rental rates should be increased?

4.    How many months a year do you spend at HHIMR?

5.    We have heard that being on the BOD is a significant time commitment. How much time are you willing to spend on BOD projects, and are you available throughout the entire year?

6.    What issues, to improve the resort, do you feel are not being addressed?

If time allows, questions will be welcomed from the audience.

·        Please limit your question to 30 seconds.

·        Owner’s with questions will come to the front of the room, to the microphone, to ask their question.

Owners Week – Final Schedule

We are pleased to attach an updated and final schedule for Owners Week. All events are no charge to owners with the exception of the golf outing, although the resort is covering the cost of a lunch for all golf participants. We know a lot of people didn’t like having to pay to attend dinners etc., hence a light version of owners week in the fall. As a result, we have the funds in the budget to cover the costs of the spring owners week, and it looks like it’s going to be a great one again.

Another request we heard from many owners was to have the events on-site at the resort. We heard you and that’s what we’re doing, again with the exception of golf and a wine tasting event that Kind of Blue agreed to put on at a very special price for us. The wine tasting will be held across the street at their facility, so you can’t get much closer than that!!

We have tried to partner with local restaurants that you all enjoy and that are willing work with the resort for future activities. Therefore, we will be getting food from Doughboys, Pomodori, Kind of Blue and Captain Woody’s.

We have some great entertainment for the week that will conclude with a great band on Saturday night for our Prom Night themed dinner.

We will be getting registration out this coming week, most events will be booked online with the exception of the sporting events which emails for the organizers will be posted.

We ask that you ONLY register if you plan to attend the event, that way we can get an accurate count on numbers for the meals. We anticipate that there will not be a problem with numbers, so please help us get an accurate number so we’re not wasting money on extra meals for no shows. Unfortunately we saw this happen last spring which not only wasted money, but also possibly took away the opportunity for someone else to attend.
