Team Motorcoach

I want to thank everyone who signed up for the text messaging with the resort. Below are a few clarifications:

  • International numbers are not able to sign up at the moment. Constant Contact is working on making this accessible, we do not have a timeline for completion.

  • Text messaging will only be used for emergencies, water shut offs, cable/wifi issues. Emails will still be our main source of communication and Postings from Paradise.

  • You are NOT required to sign up for text messaging.

  • Next Week a test text message will be sent out.

It has been a quiet week with the activities seating area. The town has not been out to inspect the fencing and the Greenery was unable to move forward.

Pickleball court #1 has been repaired. The net will be installed on Monday morning and the court will be open for use on Monday the 29th. We thank everyone for your patience while we waited for the vendor to return and repair the court.

I have been communicating with Palmetto Coastal to find solutions to the noise at 8am outside the entrance/exit gate. We will be trying several options in the next few weeks to determine the best solution for everyone involved.

Uplighting has been installed around the pool deck. Thank you to Mark, Bud, and Mike Gaddy for your help with this.

Mindy and Rick Frye pulled out this week and headed back towards Maine for the summer months. They will be returning in October for the Fall and Winter months. We wish them safe travels.

We live, shop, eat, and play in beautiful South Carolina and we wouldn’t have it any other way. In celebration of our great communities, The Island Packet and The Beaufort Gazette are revamping the “Best of” and presenting the 2024 Lowcountry’s Best. This contest is truly designed to engage the community in celebrating the places, restaurants and local businesses we love.

Board of Directors

J.L. Belisle –

As I complete my first month as your president, I am thankful for all the help and support I have received from all of the owners and staff. HHIMR is truly great. By this message, I want to address three issues that seem to be affecting all of us.

Early morning blower noise, entrance/exit:

Palmetto Coastal is required to maintain the entrance and exit to our resort daily. They are not to start before 8 am and to complete as close to 9 am as possible, before the resort starts receiving guests. They had been using the same equipment that The Greenery

was using. However, someone did not get the 8 am memo last weekend, and combine that with the fact that Palmetto cleans the roadways and the beds, (the Greenery only cleaned

the roads). It means that the noise lasts longer and seems to be louder.

Wendy has been in touch with Palmetto and they will not start before 8 am. Palmetto has also purchased a Stihl electric blower and the resort purchased a Stihl low noise gas blower to experiment with. We hope these 2 types of blowers will help, but unfortunately, there will always be some noise before 9 am.

Sportsmanship:

Lately, we had a glowing review of our resort in PFP. It was a pleasure to read. Wendy, her staff and all the owners can be proud.

However, the comments about un-sportsmanship on the courts is a concern. I would not be mentioning this if it were an isolated incident. I would like to remind everyone of the great place we have and the need to make all owners and guests feel welcome, whether it is by the pool, the Oasis grill or the courts.

Remember our code of conduct is: Be Nice.

Mass mailings:

Lately, a real estate agent has accessed our owners list and used it for mass mailings. This is an un-authorized use. Unfortunately, we do not have an agreement with this broker at this time, and they are not bound by our rules. We will be having a conversation(s) with this company and hope to have this issue resolved soon.

Regards,

JL

Facilities Manager

Happy Friday!

Water valve testing in Phase 1 and 2 has been completed. Thank you Bud and Glen for your help on the final day of testing. Bud will be reporting the findings and making recommendations to the Board. Valves will be replaced prior to paving.

The pool was treated on Thursday for an algae. Per DHEC the pool must be closed for 24 hours while being treated. The pool was reopened around 10:30 this morning after Sweetwater re-tested and cleaned the bottom of the pool.

The Pagoda lights around the pickleball court failed again. We have narrowed it down to a specific light. The light has been disconnected and will be addressed after the seating area is finished.

Pickleball Court 1 has been repaired. The court will be available on Monday for use. I will remove the cones when I come in Monday.

Palmetto Coastal will be looking to find ways to keep the water moving in the lagoon.

Next week, every day between 9am and 12pm, we will be pressure washing the pool deck, pavers, and roofs in the pool area.

Enjoy your weekend and safe travels.
