Notice from the Town of Hilton Head
Construction work on a brand-new boardwalk at Folly Field Beach Park at 55 Starfish Drive has begun and will continue until the end of October.
The project, part of the Town of Hilton Head Island’s Capital Improvement Program, involves the demolition of the existing boardwalk that stretches from the beach park to the shore and the construction of a new boardwalk in the same location. The current boardwalk has been in place since 1991.
During the construction period, Folly Field Beach Park will be closed temporarily. Parking and access to the beach at this location will be unavailable.
The Town wants to make sure everyone can still experience the Island’s beautiful beaches. That’s why to help get your tourists and visitors who may be inconvenienced during this time, the Town is offering a free shuttle to provide alternative beach access.
The route will shuttle beachgoers from Folly Field Beach Park and surrounding areas to Driessen Beach Park between 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., 7 days a week from September 23 through October 31.
We would appreciate your assistance in informing your residents, visitors, and guests about this service.
Beachgoers are also encouraged to visit other beach parks around the Island:
