This has been an exciting week for my family, My youngest son has decided to Join the Air Force Air National Guard. He will be swearing in on the 21st of February in Jacksonville. I am so proud of him.

Today I met with an owner that provided positive and informative feedback on minor maintenance /image concerns. I appreciate the insightfulness of their comments. We all have one goal, and that is to move this resort forward and maintain a 5 star standard.

Island Financial

1099’s were mailed out this past week. They cannot be emailed by law. Your 1099 total will NOT match your Staylist records, due to receiving a rental incentive each quarter. If you have not received your copy please contact Barbara at barbara@islandfinancialhhi.com.

Upstairs Kitchen

It has been requested by several owners for the resort to allow owner access to the kitchen without permission. Terrence and myself are reviewing this and will have a decision made by the end of next week.

Property Enhancement

The past few months have been rough on the lawns, plants and trees in the resort. If you have not already, please take stock of your landscaping, and address any issues/concerns you may have.

The weather has been perfect, and it is nice to see the owners back on the outdoor facilities and enjoying the park.

The management and board have asked that we streamline our communications with the owners.

We are asking owners to use emails to communicate their suggestions and concerns.

PEC issues should be sent to agm@hhimr.com and maintenance issues to maintenance@hhimr.com.

This will allow us to have a record of the conversation and issues as they come up and dealing with them in an orderly fashion.

The office and staff are trained and focussed on dealing with our rental guests.

Owners are also asked to respect their fellow owners and board members by not approaching them during social events, on the courts or on their lots.

This year three seats are open for election, all three seats are for a three-year term. The terms of current board members, Glen Rockwood (1 year term), Spiro Gerekos and Tony Goddard (3 year terms) expire April 12, 2025.

The Elections Committee is seeking talented owners with skills and understanding of business, contracts, management, infrastructure, technology, and communications.  This position requires a familiarity with the Governing Documents for the resort, a commitment to fulfill your term on the board, attendance at scheduled meetings in person &/or via Zoom, and respectful engagement in communications within the board, via email. 

If you want a rewarding challenge and would like to play a vital role in supporting our beautiful resort, this is the position for you.

Qualifications: To be eligible to serve as a director, a person shall be either an individual owning at least a fifty percent (50%) interest in a unit, an executor or administrator of the estate such as a deceased owner, or the Voting Member designated by a trust, a partnership or a corporation that owns a unit. Finally, board members must be able to attend scheduled meetings either in person at the resort or via video or teleconference over the Internet.

We invite qualified owners to submit an application to run for the Board of Directors. Applications must arrive to the Elections Committee no later than Sunday February 23, 2025 by noon.

On Wednesday February 12th, the water main will be turned off for a repair on the backflow valve. Water will be off for about 3 hours during the afternoon. An email and text will be sent as a reminder.

The scrap pile will be removed tomorrow February 8th.

Last week the pool heaters were turned on for cleaning and inspection. One heater is on, the other 2 need parts. They are on order and will be repaired later in the week. The water temp is currently 75. There were owners and guests enjoying the pool this afternoon. If the temps stay above 55 at night, I will keep the heaters on.

A shower in the ladies room at the clubhouse will need wall repair. The back left shower will be unavailable for a few days.

Next week we will be working on the globe lights and the pagoda lights.

The last week in February we will be cleaning the fence screens and the courts. Expect some closures while we are working in there.
